GK Energy wins ₹455 crore solar project; check details of second order in a week

Worth ₹454.50 crore, the company received a Letter of Empanelment (LOE) from a leading state government-owned power distribution utility for grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects. Under the empanelment, GK Energy has been allocated 1 kW rooftop solar capacity to be installed across 1 lakh households, with a combined capacity of 100 MW.

As part of the project scope, GK Energy will undertake design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems, along with O&M for a period of five years. The projects are expected to be completed within 60 days from the issuance of the respective work orders.

 "This empanelment marks an important step in expanding our presence in the rooftop solar segment and taking clean energy solutions to a wider base of households. Our experience in executing decentralized solar projects across multiple locations provides us with the capabilities and on-ground reach required to undertake projects of this scale,” said GK Energy Chairman, Managing Director & CEO Gopal Kabra.

“As we move forward, our focus will remain on timely execution, service quality and expanding our capabilities across decentralized renewable energy solutions,” Kabra added.

For GK Energy, this development expands its presence in the rooftop solar segment and builds on its experience in executing decentralized solar projects. The company will leverage its existing execution capabilities and on-ground network for implementation of these projects.

With this, since April 1, 2026, the company has received an allocation/empanelment of more than ₹1,092 crore, including GST, till date.

Other order details

On August 26, GK Energy had received another letter of empanelment from a state government-owned power distribution utility for the execution of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic projects.

Under the empanelment, the company has been allocated 1 lakh rooftop solar photovoltaic projects of 1 kW each, aggregating to 100 MW, to be installed at a lakh households. The contract rate is ₹45,450 per kW, including GST, with an aggregate contract value of approximately ₹454.50 crore, including GST.

GK Energy share price details

On Thursday, GK Energy shares closed at ₹139.65 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, rising 4.36%.

From the beginning of the year, GK Energy shares have fallen 10%. Over a month’s time, the stock has advanced 2%, while for a six-month period, it has climbed 25%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹239.60 on October 23, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹87.20 on April 2, 2026.

According to NSE data, as of August 27, 2026, GK Energy has a total market capitalisation of ₹2,827.27 crore.
