Cochin Shipyard and Garden Reach Shipbuilders has fixed Friday, September 12, 2025 as the record date to determine eligible shareholders for dividend payout, which means investors who purchase shares of these companies today will be eligible for the dividend payout.
Garden Reach Shipbuilders recommended a final dividend of ₹4.90 per share for FY25 with a face value of ₹10, which was to be paid within 30 days from the date of its 109th annual general meeting (AGM). Meanwhile, Cochin Shipyard announced a final dividend of ₹2.25 per share with a face value of ₹5.
In Q1FY26, state-run Garden Reach Shipbuilders reported 29.7% YoY rise in revenue to ₹1,310 crore, while its net profit stood at ₹120 crore for the reporting quarter, marking a growth of 38% from ₹87 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal year.
Cochin Shipyard’s Q1FY26 net profit increased 7.9% YoY to ₹187.8 crore, while consolidated revenue for the quarter surged 38.5% to ₹1,068 crore against ₹771.5 crore in Q1FY25.

Two other defence PSU companies Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders and Bharat Dynamics will also be approaching their dividend record date soon. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, which announced final dividend of ₹2.71 per share with a face value of ₹5 has set September 19, 2025 as record date to determine eligible shareholders. Meanwhile, Bharat Dynamics final dividend of ₹0.65 per share also has Friday, September 19, 2025 as record date.
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders reported subdued Q1FY26 results as its net profit declined by 35% YoY to ₹452 crore from ₹696 crore a year earlier. However, revenue for the quarter rose 11.4% YoY to ₹2,625.5 crore from ₹2,357 crore, while EBITDA dropped 53% to ₹301 crore compared with ₹642 crore last year.
In Q1FY26, Bharat Dynamics reported robust growth of 154% YoY in its net profit to ₹18.34 crore, while revenue from operations climbed 29.6% to ₹247.92 crore.
Investors holding shares as of the record dates are eligible to receive these dividend payouts. On the record or ex-dividend date, the stock price usually drops by the dividend payout amount. This adjustment happens because new buyers after the ex-date are not eligible for the declared dividend. However, the actual price movement may vary due to broader market trends, investor sentiment, and company fundamentals.
