G R Infraprojects shares jump 3% as firm wins bid for transmission system in Madhya Pradesh

Shares of G R Infraprojects surged 3% to an intraday high of ₹1,272 apiece after the construction company emerged as the L-1 bidder for establishing a transmission system for the evacuation of power from renewable energy (RE) projects in Madhya Pradesh.

“…our company has emerged as the L-1 bidder for establishing the ‘Transmission system for evacuation of power from RE projects in Rajgarh (1500 MW) SEZ in Madhya Pradesh-Phase III and evacuation of power from RE projects in Neemuch (1000 MW) SEZ in Madhya Pradesh-Phase II, through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB),” the company said in a statement to the regulators.

The annual transmission charges are at ₹367 crore, and the project will be completed within 24 months from the special purpose vehicle (SPV) acquisition, G R Infra said in a statement. It will handle operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project for 35 years.

Following this, shares of the firm gained. Last seen, G R Infra shares were trading at ₹1,264.80 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 2.25%.

The infrastructure company had reported a 57% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit at ₹244 crore for the June quarter as compared to ₹155 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Its revenue from operations, however, declined 2.1% to ₹1,988 crore as against ₹2,030 crore in the same period last year.

At the operation level, G R Infra’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 8.1% to ₹398 crore in Q1 FY26 in contrast to ₹368 crore in the same quarter of FY25. 

In the reporting quarter, the EBITDA margin was at 20% in contrast to 18.1% in Q1 FY25.

Over the last five trading days, G R Infra shares have gained nearly 3%. For a six-month period, it has jumped 23%.

Since the beginning of the year, the stock has lost 14.6%.

Shares of the firm had touched their one-year high of ₹1774.95 apiece on September 24, 2024, while their 52-week low of ₹901 was hit on March 17, 2025.
