Shares of the firm had hit a one-year high level of ₹1,225 apiece on NSE in the previous trading session as well.

The rise in stock on Wednesday comes after analysts share a positive outlook for the firm. Jefferies analysts said Finolex Cables reported a strong beat in the first quarter. They noted that sales and EBIT growth in the Electricals (C&W) segment was driven by multiple price hikes over the last 12 months.

The analysts noted that key margin improvement came from the communication segment, mainly due to higher optical fibre cable prices and volumes. They added that the benefit from backward integration could accrue from Q3 FY27.

The manufacturer of electrical and telecommunication cables reported a consolidated net profit of ₹249 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), registering a growth of 53% from ₹163 crore during the same period last year.

The revenue from operations of Finolex also increased 44% for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, to ₹2,103 crore as against ₹1,396 crore in the year-ago period.

The company posted a jump in operational performance in Q1 as its operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), rose 78% to ₹244 crore from ₹137 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Its operating profit margin, also known as EBITDA margin, expanded to 12.14% from 9.84% in the corresponding period last year.

In volume terms, Finolex’s electrical wires were higher by 7%, with stellar contributions from agricultural, industrial and solar applications. Within the communication cables segment, optic fiber cable volumes were significantly higher than the previous year and with higher realizations, margins were also high, the company said.

“With very limited availability of fuel (LPG/PNG) due to the war in the Middle East, the Copper Rod plant was not operated during the quarter. The limited fuel availability also impacted volumes in the new product categories,” Finolex said in a statement.

The company also added that its expansion plans for the Fiber Draw Facility are on track. The full capacity from the new plant (4 million fiber kilometers) is now expected to be on stream by Q3 of the current fiscal year.
