Eternal stock zooms 4% on heavy trading volume; Check details

Shares of Eternal, formerly known as Zomato Ltd, soared as much as 3.91% to hit an intra-day high of ₹237.3 apiece on the NSE on Friday, May 30. The upswing follows a surge in trading volume.

The stock saw heavy trading, as many as 7.08 crore shares changed hands on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for a total value of ₹1,652 crore, at around 1:46 pm.

On the BSE, around 34.86 lakh shares changed hands against an average of 20.61 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

At around the same time, the scrip was trading 3.52% higher at ₹236.41 per share.

Eternal Q4 results

Earlier this month, Eternal reported a 78% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its net profit to ₹39 crore in the March FY25 quarter, compared to ₹175 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue from operations stood at ₹5,833 crore in the quarter under review, jumping 64% YoY from ₹3,562 crore in the fourth quarter of FY24.

It clocked an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) of ₹72 crore, falling 16% YoY from ₹86 crore in Q4FY24. Its EBITDA margin shrank to 1.23%, down 120 basis points from 2.41%.

"On a like-for-like basis (excluding the impact of the acquisition of Paytm’s entertainment ticketing business), NOV growth was 48% YoY (5% QoQ). Our B2B business, Hyperpure’s Revenue, grew 93% YoY (10% QoQ). Consolidated Adjusted Revenue grew 60% YoY (8% QoQ) to ₹6,188 crore. On the profitability front, consolidated Adjusted EBITDA declined 15% YoY to ₹165 crore in Q4FY25, largely on account of the accelerated investments in expanding our quick commerce store network, which was partly offset by the improvement in food delivery Adjusted EBITDA margin (as a % of NOV) to 5.2% from 3.8% a year ago," Eternal said.

Eternal stock performance

Eternal stock gained 0.44% over the week and 1.71% since the beginning of May. However, the scrip has fallen steeply by 14.92% on a year-to-date basis.

The share hit a 52-week high of ₹304.70 apiece on December 9, 2024, and a low of ₹146.30 almost a year ago on June 4, 2024.

Eternal Ltd has a total market capitalisation of ₹2.28 lakh crore, as of May 30, 2025, on the NSE.
