Crompton Greaves Consumer secures patent for ‘Aerodynamic Profile’

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited on Wednesday, August 28, said that one of its inventions has been granted a patent under the Patents Act, 1970.

The electronic appliances maker informed the stock exchanges in a filing that the company has been granted a patent for its invention titled ‘Aerodynamic Profile’.

The patent is valid till April 2038, effective for 20 years starting April 2018, the company informed the bourses.

“This patent has been officially granted vide Patent Number 548800 on 27/08/2024 for the term of 20 years effective from 05/04/2018 in accordance with the provisions of the Patents Act, 1970,” the company said.

Crompton Greaves Consumer stock opened marginally higher on the NSE on Wednesday and touched an intraday high of ₹471.6 apiece, up 0.4% from its previous close. However, the stock pared early gains to close1.4% lower at ₹462.6 apiece on the NSE.

In a separate filing, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals informed the stock exchange about receiving a GST demand of ₹47 lakh from the Excise and Taxation Officer of the Ambala Ward in Haryana.

“The company has received an order from the office of the Excise and Taxation Officer, Ambala Ward I, Haryana for the period from April 2019 to March 2020 imposing demand of ₹47,18,117 (tax ₹23,76,886, interest ₹ 21,03,544 and penalty ₹2,37,886) under Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017,” the filing read.

Crompton Greaves said that it is planning to file an appeal against this order before the concerned Appeals Commissioner. “There is no material impact on financials, operations, or other activities of the company,” the company said.

Last week, the Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals launched new products in its kitchen appliance segment. The company announced the launch of the Ameo Blend Nutri Blender.

The company said that the new product fits seamlessly into small kitchens while supporting healthy food habits with blend and carry food grade jars and multiple attachments like Sipper Cap and Storage Lid. The product has been priced at ₹4,800.
