CG Power shares surge 8% after winning ₹900 crore data center order; check details

CG Power shares were in the spotlight today as the engineering conglomerate stock soar over 8% intraday on NSE after securing large order for data center project. The company secured ₹900 crore order from a US-based firm for supplying power transformers for a data centre project.

This new order comes from Tallgrass Integrated Logistics Solutions LLC USA, for a large-scale data center project in the United States. This is the largest single order ever won by CG Power and Industrial Solutions. Under the contract, CG will supply power transformers, specifically engineered to meet the stringent reliability, efficiency and uptime requirements of hyperscale data center applications. This order will be executed over a delivery period of 12 to 20 months.

CG Power shares rebound today snapping its 9-days losing steak. The company’s started the 2026 on weak note as the stock is down over nearly 8% so far this year. The current market cap of the company stood at ₹94,427 crore.

CG Power is also actively involved in semiconductor business. The company along with its joint venture (JV) partner Japan-based Renesas Electronics and Stars Microelectronics has set up CG Semi Private Limited, which launched its first semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat.

This JV plans to invest over ₹7,600 crore in the next five years to set up two state-of-the-art facilities, G1 and G2, in Sanand, Gujarat. The G1 facility has launched the first Made in India semiconductor chip, while the G2 facility is still under construction and expected to be operational this year.
