The two firms strengthened their longstanding partnership through a new collaboration to deploy Ericsson's secure, high-performing 5G core network offerings to the benefit of Airtel's millions of customers and enterprises across India.
“The collaboration will enable Airtel to seamlessly transition to a commercially live, full-scale 5G standalone network over time, bringing the high-end capabilities of 5G to their customers,” the company said in an exchange filing.
At 3 PM, shares of Bharti Airtel were trading 2.69% higher at ₹1,644.45 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). At close, shares of Bharti Airtel rose 2.32% higher at ₹1,638.45 per share on the NSE. The scrip was the top contributing one on the 50-share index.
As part of this agreement, Ericsson will deploy its Signalling Controller solution within Bharti Airtel's network. Furthermore, Ericsson's 5G Standalone-enabled Charging and Policy solution will be introduced. These new capabilities represent a strategic enhancement to Bharti Airtel's 5G monetization efforts, enabling the development of new business models.

This rollout will play a pivotal role in Airtel's long-term 5G strategy, boosting network capacity and enabling the delivery of innovative, differentiated services to customers,” said Andres Vicente, Head of Market Area Southeast Asia, Oceania and India, Ericsson.
Bharti Airtel on Monday also partnered with iPhone maker Apple. According to the partnership plan, all home Wi-Fi customers on plans starting at ₹999 will get access to the captivating content of Apple TV+ with the option to stream content on multiple devices while on the move.
Bharti Airtel posted a 460.9% increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹16,134.6 crore for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Q3 FY25), up from ₹2,876.4 crore reported in the year-ago period. The telecom major’s revenue from operations jumped to ₹45,129.3 crore for the reporting quarter, up 19.08% from ₹37,899.5 crore in Q3FY24.
The company’s consolidated earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹24,880 crore, while the EBITDA margin was at 55.1%. Its consolidated net income (before exceptional items) grew by 121.3% to ₹5,514 crore.
