Bharat Dynamics shares decline over 4% after net profit slips to ₹273 crore; check all Q4 numbers

Bharat Dynamics reported a 5.5% decline in its net profit at ₹272.7 crore on Tuesday, May 27, for the quarter ending March 31, 2025. The firm had seen a profit of ₹288.8 crore in the same period last year.

The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were also seen at 5.5% YoY at ₹299 crore as against ₹316.3 crore in Q4 FY25. Margin during the reporting quarter shrunk 16.83% as compared to 37.04% YoY.

However, its total revenue from operations, however, witnessed a significant jump of 108.08% year-on-year (YoY) at ₹1,777 crore in contrast to ₹854 crore reported in the corresponding quarter the preceding year.

Following this, shares of Bharat Dynamics were trading at ₹1,878 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, declining 4.19%.

Bharat Dynamics' board of directors also recommended a final dividend of ₹0.65 per equity share with a face value of ₹5 each for FY25, subject to shareholder approval.

As of December 2024, the government held a 74.93% stake in Bharat Dynamics.

During the year 2024-25, the company has invested in the Electronic Warfare (Defence) Testing Foundation and the Advanced Materials (Defence) Testing Foundation, it said.

Bharat Dynamics had paid an interim dividend of ₹4 per equity share of ₹5 each in February 2025 for the year 2024-25.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the stock exchange had sought clarification from Bharat Dynamics with respect to a recent report that the government has readied a ₹2,000-3,000 crore order to buy Invar missiles from Bharat Dynamics.

In response to the query, BDL had responded, “There is no requirement of any negotiation. BDL, being a PSU under the Ministry of Defence, its contracts are confidential & classified in nature. Divulging information on the same may be detrimental to national security.”

Share price details

Over a month’s period, the stock of the defence company has increased almost 27%.

Since November 28, 2024, which is six months, shares of the firm have climbed 61%.

Shares of the firm had touched its one-year high on Tuesday, May 27, at ₹1,991.50 apiece. Its 52-week low of ₹890 per share was hit on November 18, 2025.

Its market capitalisation stands at ₹68,990.73 crore.
