Bajaj Finance share price: Shares of the country’s largest non-banking financial company (NBFC), Bajaj Finance, declined on Thursday, September 24, despite the company stating that its board of directors will meet to consider a fundraiser.

The Pune-based company said its board of directors will hold a meeting on Thursday, October 1, to raise funds, according to a regulatory filing.

At the meeting, Bajaj Finance’s board will consider the proposal to raise funds through any or all of the various methods, including by way of a preferential issue or qualified institutional placement (QIP).

The fundraiser, if approved by the board, will be further subject to such regulatory and/or statutory approvals as may be required, including approval of the shareholders of the company.

Bajaj Finance Q1 results

The firm reported a net profit (attributable to the owners of the company) of ₹5,986 crore in the first quarter of the April-June quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), marking an increase of 27% year-on-year (YoY) from ₹4,700 crore in the same period last year.

Its net interest income (NII) advanced 23% YoY to ₹12,571 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹10,228 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

Bajaj Finance's assets under management (AUM) rose 24% YoY to ₹5,46,944 crore in Q1 FY27, as against ₹4,41,450 crore in the year-ago period.

Bajaj Finance stock performance

Shares of Bajaj Finance fell as much as 6.4% to hit an intraday low of ₹976 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, September 24, amid a broad-based decline in the market.

At around 10:33 AM, the scrip stood at ₹993.60 per equity share, reflecting a 4.75% decline. The stock lost 2% in the past week and 7% over the month. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has gained more than 2%.

While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹1,176.40 apiece on August 3, 2026, they touched a year’s low of ₹787.90 per unit on March 23, 2026.
