Bajaj Auto records 5% growth in June sales, stock trades in green

Bajaj Auto on Monday reported a 5% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its total sales for June 2024 at 3.58 lakh units. The total sale of two-wheelers grew 3% YoY to 3.03 lakh units while the total sales of commercial vehicles were up 16% YoY at 54,831 units. Shares of Bajaj Auto were trading higher by over 1% on Monday.

In June 2024, the total domestic sales of two-wheelers grew by 7% YoY to 1.77 lakh units while the total domestic sales of commercial vehicles was up 16% YoY to 39,244. Meanwhile, the exports of two-wheelers fell by 1% YoY to 1.26 lakh units whereas the exports for commercial vehicles rose 14% YoY to 15,587 units.

The total domestic sales and exports grew by 8% and 1% to 2.16 lakh units and 1.42 lakh units, respectively.

On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Bajaj Auto has seen its total sales grow by 7% YoY to 11.02 lakh units. The total domestic sales have seen a growth of 8% YoY to 6.90 lakh units and exports have grown by 7% YoY to 4.11 lakh units.

The total YTD sales of two-wheelers have risen 7% YoY to 9,50,917 units, of which, domestic sales are up 7% YoY to 5,82,497 units and exports have grown by 6% YoY to 3,68,420 units.

The total YTD sales of commercial vehicles have grown by 9% YoY to 1.51 lakh units. Bajaj Auto’s domestic sales of commercial vehicles YTD are higher by 10% YoY to 1.08 lakh units while exports of commercial vehicles have grown by 9% YoY to 43,015 units.

Bajaj Auto recently announced its wholly-owned subsidiary, Bajaj Do Brasil Comercio De Motocicletas has commenced commercial production at its new manufacturing plant located in Av. do Turismo, Bairro Tarumã, Manaus, Brazil. The company reported that the plant has a production capacity of 20,000 units per year in a single shift. The plant is equipped with engine and vehicle assembly as well as testing facilities.

Shares of the company have risen by nearly 42% since the beginning of the year. The stock has gained nearly 107% in the last one year.
