Avantel shares in focus on bagging order worth over ₹177 crore from Zetwerk Manufacturing

Shares Avantel will be under spotlight after the defence firm on Wednesday, September 23, said it has secured a major order from Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses.

Worth ₹177.35 crore, the order includes the supply of satellite communication equipment along with a one-year comprehensive onsite warranty.

The domestic order is expected to be completed by March 2027.

“…we are pleased to inform you that the Company has received a firm Purchase Order dated September 22, 2026, from M/s. Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses Limited, pursuant to the aforesaid Rate Contract, for the supply of Satellite Communication Equipment,” Avantel said in a regulatory filing.

Last week, the company’s board of directors had considered a proposal to merge its wholly owned subsidiary, Imeds Global Private Limited, into the company.

Avantel had said that the proposed merger is intended to rationalise the group structure, simplify governance and reporting, consolidate operations and resources, eliminate duplication of administrative and compliance functions, improve operational efficiency and facilitate better management and oversight.

In August, the firm has bagged another order worth ₹117.88 crore from the Ministry of Defence for DRDO’s ground segment hub development.

Avantel share price trends

On Wednesday, Avantel shares closed at ₹146.17 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 0.37%. The development, however, came after the market hours. The stock was listed on the exchanges on July 31, 2024.

From the beginning of the year, Avantel shares have slipped 7%. Over a month’s time, the stock has declined 8%, while for a six-month period, it has gained 24%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹215 on October 10, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹117.05 on March 23, 2026.

What Avantel does

Avantel has been supporting the strategic sector for three decades and has rolled out many unique products/solutions to Indian defence services and allied establishments. The company, in its initial years, manufactured various building blocks of the radios.

From early 2000 onwards, the company has reoriented itself and started offering system-based solutions to its customers in four main verticals, i.e., satellite communications, HF communications, electronic warfare and radar systems, respectively. 

At present, the company is in the process of enhancing its portfolio and developing SCA-compliant software-defined radios, high-power HF systems, air defence radars and small satellites.

According to NSE data, as of September 23, 2026, Avantel has a total market capitalisation of ₹3,884.85 crore.
