Is Apple making 25% of iPhones in India?

According to a Bloomberg report on Tuesday, Apple Inc. has increased its iPhone production in India by nearly 53% last year, which means now the company is making 25% of its total iPhones produced in India in an effort to pivot from China manufacturing.

Data suggests that Apple has assembled nearly 55 million iPhones in India in the year 2025, which is up from its previous levels of 36 million a year ago, reported the news agency, citing people aware of the development.

The Bloomberg report also highlighted that Apple’s strategic shift to India from China comes on the backdrop of the company’s expansion plans in India, which are supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s production-linked incentives in an effort to make India the manufacturing hub of the world.

These incentives in the form of subsidies have helped companies like Apple to offset some of their structural cost disadvantages, which firms face in India, amid a lack of supply chain and logistical issues in trading with China.

However, Apple’s spokesperson refused to comment on the queries sent by the news agency.
