Aatmanirbharta will launch a six-year mission in pulses, with a special focus on tur, urad, and moong. Central agencies will be ready to procure these three pulses as much as offered during the next four years from farmers who register with them and enter into agreements. Following the announcement, seed manufacturers like Kaveri Seeds and Godrej Agrovet jumped over 10% in the trade.
The FM also said, "Comprehensive program for vegetables and fruits. It is encouraging that are people are increasingly becoming aware of the nutritional needs, it is a sign of a society becoming healthy with in rising income levels. The consumption of vegetables fruits and Shree anna is increasing significantly a comprehensive program to promote production efficient supplies processing and remunerate to crisis."
Nafed (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India) and NCCF will procure pulses in the next four years.
The government will also roll out a 6-year programme for Atmanirbharta in pulses with a special focus on tur, urad, and masoor.A comprehensive programme for raising vegetables, fruit production, and providing remunerative prices will also be launched, Sitharaman said.President Droupadi Murmu on Friday said the government is working towards modernisation and self-reliance in the agriculture sector while focusing on boosting farmers' income.
