At 12:36 pm, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 79,617.99 levels, down 760.14 points, or 0.95% while the NSE's NIFTY50 index was trading at 24,222.50, down 261.55 points, or 1.07%.
Here is a list of stocks that are buzzing in today's trade.
ITI: ITI Ltd saw a volume of 4.61 lakh shares in the late morning deals on the BSE, a 9.62-fold spurt over the two-week average daily volume of 47,896 shares.
The stock was trading over 10% higher at ₹256.35.
Avalon Technologies: Shares of
Avalon Technologies were trading 14.50% higher at ₹675.50 apiece on the BSE. The company's net profit rose 140.11% to ₹17.48 crore in the quarter ended September 2024 as against ₹7.28 crore during the previous quarter ended September 2023.
Sales rose 36.83% to ₹275.02 crore.
Swan Energy: Swan Energy shares were up nearly 13% at ₹560.55 per unit on the BSE after the company informed exchanges that it will declare its financial results on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Blue Star: The stock was down over 6% at ₹1,762.45 on the BSE after the company on Wednesday reported a 35.73% rise in consolidated net profit at ₹96.06 crore for the second quarter ended September 2024, led by its project business.
Revenue from operations was up 20.39% to ₹2,275.96 crore in the September quarter, compared to ₹1,890.40 crore in the year-ago period.
Hindalco: Shares of
Hindalco Industries slipped as much as 7% to ₹657.65 apiece on the BSE on Thursday, November 7, a day after its US-based subsidiary Novelis Inc reported a fall in its net profit for the July-September quarter.
Adani Energy Solutions: The stock was down over 8% at ₹986.55 on the BSE as the company, which was one of the prospective inclusions in the latest round of MSCI rejig, was not included in the Global Standard Index.
MSCI attributed the non-inclusion of Adani Energy Solutions to concerns surrounding its free float.
"As per publicly available disclosures, Adani Energy Solutions has been issued a show cause notice by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for potential wrongful categorisation of shareholding of certain entities," MSCI wrote in its statement.
Trent: The stock was down over 4.6% ahead of its Q2 results announcement.
Premier Energies: Premier Energies shares were down over 5% at ₹1,124.10 per unit on the BSE. The company's shares ended nearly 10% higher on Tuesday after the company's subsidiaries bagged orders worth ₹560 crore.
Apollo Hospitals: Shares hit an all-time high of ₹7,482.80 apiece on the BSE as the company on Wednesday reported a 63% growth in its consolidated profit after tax for the second quarter that ended September 2024, on the back of higher revenue.
During the quarter under review, its revenue from operations grew 15% year-on-year to ₹5,589 crore.
Tata Steel: Shares of Tata Steel rose more than 2% on Monday after the steel manufacturer's financial results for the second quarter of the current fiscal year beat market estimates.
The stock jumped as much as 2.1% to ₹156.92 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The company on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹758.84 crore for the latest September quarter, compared to a net loss of ₹6,511.16 crore in the year-ago period.
Waaree Energies: Shares were down 6% at ₹3,415.60 apiece on the BSE. The company today received an order for the supply of solar PV modules up to 180 Mwp from a renowned customer engaged in the business of owning, developing, and operating renewable power projects in India.
The supply of modules is scheduled to commence at the end of November 2024 and be completed in Q4 of FY 2025.
