Stock market holiday: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE will remain closed on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in view of Independence Day 2024. According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI's) holiday calendar, public and private banks across the country will also remain shut.

The stock exchanges will resume normal trading on Friday, August 16.
On Independence Day, which is recognised as a national holiday, all public and private banks across India will remain closed.
Despite banks being closed, online banking services will be available.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be closed for morning and evening trading sessions. In addition, NCDEX (National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd) will be closed for trading on Independence Day.
Government offices, schools and colleges will observe a holiday on August 15.
