Tata Capital IPO Listing Live Updates: Tracking listing day activity and key developments

The initial public offering included a fresh issue of 21 crore equity shares worth ₹6,846 crore and an Offer For Sale (OFS) of 26.58 crore shares valued at ₹8,665.87 crore.

The funds generated are intended to be used to enhance the company's Tier-1 capital base, supporting future capital requirements, including onward lending.

This marks the second public listing of the Tata Group in recent years, after the debut of Tata Technologies in November 2023.

The IPO was undertaken in line with the Reserve Bank of India's listing mandate for upper-layer non-banking financial companies, which mandates listing within three years of classification. The company was designated as an upper-layer NBFC in September 2022.

Before the IPO, Tata Capital mobilised ₹4,642 crore in the anchor round, from investors such as the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), Nippon India MF, Motilal Oswal MF, Amansa Holdings, Nomura, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Government Pension Fund Global among others.

With a portfolio of more than 25 lending products, Tata Capital serves a diverse customer base, including self-employed individuals and salaried workers, small businesses, SMEs, entrepreneurs and corporates.

Its key offerings include consumer loans, commercial finance, wealth management, investment banking, private equity and cleantech finance.

Apart from lending, Tata Capital distributes third-party products like insurance and credit cards, provides wealth management services, and acts as a sponsor and investment manager to private equity funds.
