Tata Capital IPO: Non-banking financial company Tata Capital's initial public offering opened for subscription on Monday, October 6. The issue, which will conclude on October 8, has kept a price band of ₹310 to ₹326 per share. A lot consists of 46 shares.

The ₹15,511.87 crore initial public offering comprises a fresh issuance of 21 crore shares, totalling ₹6,846 crore, and an offer for sale of 475,824,280 shares worth ₹8,665.87 crore by promoter Tata Sons Pvt Ltd and investor International Finance Corporation.

The company proposes to utilise the net proceeds from the fresh issue to augment its Tier-1 capital base to meet future capital needs, including onwards lending.

Tata Capital IPO day 1: Subscription status

The IPO received bids for 4,68,79,520 shares against 33,34,36,996 shares on offer, translating to 14% subscription, as per NSE data until 10:45 am.

The quota for non institutional investors (NIIs) got subscribed 6%. The category for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) received 29% subscription while the retail individual investors (RIIs) portion got subscribed 9%.

Before the IPO, Tata Capital collected ₹4,642 crore from anchor investors, including the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund (MF), Motilal Oswal MF, Nippon India MF, Amansa Holdings, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, Goldman Sachs and Government Pension Fund Global among others.
