Primary Market action: Ola Electric IPO booked 4x, Firstcry public offer sees tepid response on day 1

It was an action-packed day for primary market investors. Two new initial public offers (IPOs) opened for subscription, and six issues, including a mainboard IPO, made their market debut. In addition, as many as three public issues, including the Ola Electric Mobility IPO, also closed for bidding.

Firstcry IPO (Brainbees Solutions Limited) and Unicommerce eSolutions Limited IPO opened for subscription today. On the other hand, the public offers of Afcom Holdings Limited, Picture Post Studios Limited and Ola Electric Mobility Limited closed for subscription.

Among the six new stocks that made a market debut today, shares of Rajputana Industries, Ashapura Logistics, Sathlokhar Synergys E&C Global and Bulkcorp International were listed on the NSE SME platform, while those of Akums Drugs and Kizi Apparels were listed on the BSE SME.

Firstcry IPO (Brainbees Solutions) opens to tepid response

The ₹4,193.7 crore mainboard IPO of kids' products online retailer Brainbees Solutions Limited, which operates Firstcry.com, saw a lukewarm response on the first day of subscription. The public issue was booked only 11%, with bids for 53.36 lakh shares compared to 4.96 crore shares on offer. The retail portion of the mainboard IPO was booked only 46% on day 1, while the Non-institutional investors' (NIIs) segment was booked only 8%. The Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) applied for only 2,752.

Shares of the company are expected to be listed on the BSE and the NSE on Tuesday, August 13.

Unicommerce eSolutions IPO

The mainboard IPO worth ₹276.57 crore was fully subscribed on day one. According to BSE data, the IPO saw an overall subscription of 2.4 times, receiving bids for 3.42 crore compared to 1.4 crore shares on offer. The retail segment saw a strong subscription 10 times, while the segment reserved for NIIs was booked 2.26 times.

The stock is expected to make its debut on Tuesday, August 13. Shares of Unicommerce eSolutions will be listed on the NSE SME platform.

Afcom Holdings IPO

The IPO closed with a staggering overall subscription of 281 times. Afcom Holdings public offer received bids for over 139.01 crore shares compared to 49.4 lakh shares on offer. The NIIs’ category was booked 512 times, while the retail portion was booked 203 times. The QIBs booked their segment 186 times.

The ₹78.83-crore BSE SME IPO comprised an entirely fresh issue of 68.36 lakh shares.

Shares of the company are expected to be listed on the BSE SME platform on Friday, August 9.

Picture Post Studios IPO

The SME IPO, worth ₹18.72 crore, saw an overall subscription of 266.67 times on the final day of bidding. The issue received bids for 138.56 crore shares against 51.96 lakh shares on offer.

The retail portion was booked 308.08 times, the NIIs segment was subscribed 390 times, and the QIBs booked their category 101.18 times. The company's shares will be listed on the NSE SME platform Emerge on Friday, August 9.

OLA Electric IPO

The initial public offer of Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. was booked 4.26 times on Tuesday, the last day of bidding. The mainboard IPO received bids for 198.17 crore shares against 46.51 crore shares on offer.

The ₹6,145.56 crore public offer comprised a fresh issue of 72.37 crore shares and an offer for sale of 8.49 crore shares. The stock is expected to debut on the BSE and NSE on Friday, August 9.

Six new stocks make market debut after successful IPO

Shares of Rajputana Industries opened at a solid premium of 90% at ₹72.2 apiece against the issue price of ₹38. The stock closed at the day's high of 75.80, with a gain of 99.5% on the NSE.

Ashapura Logistirc shares opened at a decent premium of 28.5% at ₹185 against its issue price of ₹144 on the NSE SME. Shares went on to touch the day's high of ₹194.25, rising about 35%. However, it pared gains later and closed the day at ₹175.75, still 22% up with respect to its issue price.

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited also made a decent debut on the stock markets. Shares of the company, which were listed both on the NSE and BSE, opened at a 7% premium at ₹725 apiece compared to the issue price of ₹679.

Kizi Apparels also made a strong debut on the BSE SME platform. The stock was listed at a premium of 10.2% at ₹23.15 apiece against the issue price of ₹21. It touched the day's high of ₹24.30, rising nearly 16%, and settled at the same level.

Sathlokhar Synergys E&C Global shares also listed at a robust premium of 86% at ₹260 apiece on the NSE SME platform, against its issue price of ₹140. Bulkcorp International also made a strong debut as the shares opened at ₹130 apiece on the NSE SME platform, up 24% from the issue price of ₹105.
