Aequs share price: Stock lists at nearly 13% premium on NSE, BSE; here's how much investors made

Aequs share price: Shares of Aequs Ltd, a contract manufacturing company specialising in aerospace parts and consumer durable goods, made a strong debut on the stock exchanges on Wednesday, December 10.

The stock was listed at ₹140 per share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE. This reflects a premium of 12.9% over its initial public offer (IPO) price of ₹124 apiece.

A lot consisted of 120 shares. Investors who received Aequs IPO allotment made ₹16,800 per lot.

The initial share sale, with a price band of ₹118 to ₹124 per share, secured a 101.63 times subscription during the three-day bidding period. It attracted bids for 4,27,13,15,160 shares against 4,20,26,913 equity shares on offer, as per NSE data.

The category kept aside for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) got 120.92 times subscription, while the portion for non-institutional investors (NIIs) received 80.62 times subscription. The quota meant for retail investors was booked 78.05 times.

The ₹921.81 crore IPO was a fresh issue of equity shares aggregating to ₹670 crore as well as an offer for sale of ₹251.81 crore by promoters and existing investors.

Funds raised from the fresh issue would be utilised to repay loans taken by the firm and its two units -- AeroStructures Manufacturing India and Aequs Consumer Products, buy machinery and equipment for the firm and AeroStructures, and support future growth through potential acquisitions, other strategic initiatives and for general corporate requirements.

Before the IPO, the company collected ₹413.92 crore in the anchor round from investors, including SBI Mutual Fund (MF), HDFC MF, ICICI Prudential MF, Axis MF, Motilal Oswal MF, BlackRock Global Funds, Steadview Capital and Citigroup.

Aequs Ltd primarily operates in the aerospace segment, but over the years, it has expanded its product portfolio to plastics, consumer electronics and consumer durables.
