Jio Platforms, a digital-services and telecom platform, is likely to hit the primary market this month with an enterprise valuation of USD 143-146 billion, or above ₹12 lakh crore, sources tracking the development told news agency PTI.

The initial public offering could be India's largest ever issue with an estimated size of USD 3.8 billion.

The digital services major has concluded worldwide roadshows and is reportedly giving final touches to its public offer documents.

"Based on interest received from overseas roadshows, Jio Platforms is likely to list at a base enterprise valuation of USD 143-146 billion or at least ₹12 lakh crore by the end of this month," one of the banking sources told PTI.

When is the Jio IPO expected?

Jio Platforms, according to a report by news agency PTI, is expected to file final IPO documents in the week starting October 12. The issue is anticipated to open for anchor investors before Dusshera and would go live for public investors before October 23. The company's shares could make a market debut by the end of this month.

Jio Platforms, which had filed a draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) in June, received SEBI's final observations on August 28.

  • Jio Platforms may raise around USD 3.8 billion from an IPO at a valuation of around USD 143-146 billion, PTI reported, citing sources.
  • The company is expected to hold a roadshow for its public issue in India in the week starting October 12 after filing the red herring prospectus (RHP).
  • This would be the first public offering from the Reliance group since 2008 and the first issue of a consumer-focused business within the conglomerate.

The company's telecom unit, Reliance Jio Infocomm, is India's largest telecommunications operator, with a market share of 39.29% in mobile connections, serving 506 million customers, and a 32.89% share in fixed-line connections, with 157.9 million customers.

The initial public offering is solely a fresh issuance of 27 crore equity shares, with no offer for sale component.

The funds raised will be used for debt clearance of material subsidiary Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd and general corporate purposes.

Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries holds about a 66.4% stake in Jio Platforms, and Meta and Google together own 17.7%, according to the draft prospectus.
