The initial public offering (IPO) of small and medium enterprise (SME) Hamps Bio Ltd opened on a strong note on Friday, December 13, with the issue getting fully subscribed within two hours of launch.
According to the BSE data, the ₹6.22-crore Hamps Bio IPO was oversubscribed 3.4 times till 12:05 pm on the first day, led by high demand from retail investors.
The investors across categories applied for 39.44 lakh shares against 11.58 lakh shares on offer.
The portion reserved for retail investors was subscribed 6.27 times, with bids received for 36.34 lakh shares compared to the allocation of 5.79 lakh shares for the category. The Non-Institutional Investors’ (NIIs) category was subscribed only 53%, with bids for 3.1 lakh shares compared to 5.79 lakh shares reserved for the segment.

The Hamps Bio IPO is a fixed-price issue worth ₹6.22 crore. The IPO is a completely fresh issue of 12.2 lakh shares with no offer-for-sale (OFS) component.
The IPO shares are being offered at a fixed price of ₹51 apiece in a lot size of 2,000 units.
The retail investors can apply for at least a single lot size amounting to a minimum investment of ₹1,02,000 per application. The minimum application size of the High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs) is two lots of 4,000 shares, aggregating to ₹2,04,000.
The company has appointed Marwadi Chandarana Intermediaries Brokers Pvt. Ltd as the book-running lead manager of the issue. Bigshare Services Pvt. Ltd has been hired as the registrar, while Pure Broking is the market maker for the IPO.
The Hamps Bio IPO share allotment status is expected to be finalised on December 18. Successful bidders can expect the shares to be credited into their Demat account by December 19, with refunds being initiated for others the same day.
Hamps Bio Limited shares are scheduled to be listed on the BSE SME platform on December 20.
Hamps Bio has proposed to utilise the proceeds from the fresh issue for purchase of plant and machinery for its FMCG division. A portion of the funds will also be used for enhancing the visibility and awareness of the brand and general corporate purposes.
Incorporated in 2007, Hamps Bio has strong brand presence in two core divisions – pharmaceutical formulation and freeze-drying ingredient manufacturing and distributing.
The company is engaged in the marketing and distribution of pharmaceutical products under the “Hamps” brand like tablets, syrups, capsules, injectables, oil and nutritional supplements.
The FMCG division of the company focuses on freeze-dried and frozen items under the “FzyEzy” brand including strawberry, jamun, mango, beet powder, chikoo powder etc. The company distributes its products through a network of over 50 distributors and e-commerce platforms, including Amazon (US, Canada, EU), Flipkart and Jio Mart.
For the financial year 2023-24, Hamps Bio posted a 16.4% increase in revenue at ₹6.5 crore compared to ₹5.6 crore in the previous financial year 2022-23. Its net profit surged 39.5% to ₹50.07 lakh in FY24 compared to ₹35.9 lakh in FY23.
