Vedanta’s first earnings after demerger

The June quarter (Q1 FY27) results will mark Vedanta’s first earnings announcement since the completion of its demerger. The final leg of the demerger process was completed on June 15, 2026, with all four demerged entities commencing trading on the BSE and NSE after a special pre-open session for price discovery.

The newly listed companies are Vedanta Oil and Gas Ltd (formerly Malco Energy Ltd), Vedanta Power Ltd (formerly Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd), Vedanta Aluminium Metal Ltd, and Vedanta Iron and Steel Ltd.

Vedanta shares began trading ex-demerger on April 30, 2026, following a special trading session to determine the price of the residual listed entity. Under the demerger scheme, Vedanta’s businesses have been split into five independent companies, including the residual Vedanta Ltd.

As per the scheme of arrangement, Vedanta shareholders received one equity share in each of the four demerged companies for every one Vedanta share held (1:1 ratio). Following the restructuring, the Vedanta Group now comprises five standalone entities: Vedanta (Residual Entity), Vedanta Aluminium, Vedanta Oil & Gas, Vedanta Power, and Vedanta Iron & Steel, each focused on a distinct business vertical.
