TCS Q2 FY27: AI revenue hits $3.1 billion, crosses 10% of total revenue; check two key deals

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on Thursday, October 8, reported annualised Artificial Intelligence (AI) revenue of $3.1 billion for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The Indian IT services firm said AI revenue crossed 10% of its total revenue for the first time.

The largest IT services firm of the country recorded a 15% year-on-year (YoY) surge in overall consolidated net profits amid key support from revenue gains and deals in the period.

The IT company’s revenue from core operations advanced 11.2% to ₹73,188 crore in the period under review, from ₹65,799 crore in the same period a year earlier.

The company also disclosed that the total contract value (TCV), or the total deal value secured by the firm in a particular period, surged to $9.6 billion as of the quarter ended September 2026.

Along with the company’s financial report, TCS also announced a second interim dividend of ₹12 per share for every eligible shareholder up to the predetermined record date of the corporate action.

TCS Executive Director—President and Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian said AI momentum remained strong during the quarter for TCS. She added that demand for delivering business outcomes with AI-native solutions, AI-led transformation of enterprise systems and autonomous GBS, continues to accelerate.

“Cybersecurity remains a top priority as customers sharpen their focus on resilience and recovery. TCS’ Human+AI Services Autonomy model for AMS earned top rankings from customers, underscoring the strength of our differentiated capabilities,” said Subramanian.

During the quarter, TCS had announced a five-year strategic partnership with Porsche AG. As part of the deal, the company will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche to drive innovation across manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience.

The company also signed an agreement to transition Best Buy’s Global Capability Center (GCC) in India to TCS, combining the GCC’s retail and enterprise knowledge with TCS’s technology, engineering, AI and global delivery capabilities.

TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K. Krithivasan said these two unique deals represent a new category of transformation partnerships for TCS. “Together with our clients, we are building repeatable value platforms that will industrialise AI at scale,” he said.

Ahead of the earnings, TCS shares closed at ₹2,076 apiece on Thursday, falling 0.21% on the National Stock Exchange. The company has a market capitalisation of ₹7.51 lakh crore as of October 8, 2026.
