SpiceJet standalone net profit climbs nearly 173% to ₹325 crore in March quarter, revenue down 16%

SUMMARY

For the first time since FY18 (2017-18), SpiceJet posted a full-year net profit for FY25. Its standalone net profit for the year stood at ₹580.74 crore, while its consolidated net profit was at ₹48 crore in FY25. The airline’s total revenue stood at ₹1,942 crore in Q4 FY25.

SpiceJet’s EBITDA more than doubled to ₹527 crore in Q4 FY25.

SpiceJet on Saturday said its standalone net profit jumped as much as 173% to ₹324.87 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q4 FY25). The budget carrier based out of Gurugram posted a net profit of ₹119 crore in the year-ago period (Q4 FY24), according to the company’s regulatory filing.

The company’s revenue from operations, however, declined 16% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,446.37 crore against ₹1,719.3 crore in Q4 FY24.

For the full financial year (FY25), SpiceJet’s standalone profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹580.74 crore as compared to a loss of ₹409 crore in FY24. Further, its revenue from operations in FY25 fell 25% to ₹5,284 crore against ₹7,050 crore in the previous year.

The strong performance recorded this fiscal by the airline was on the back of increased passenger demand, cost optimisation and better management.

Consolidated results

On a consolidated basis, the airline posted its highest-ever net profit of ₹319 crore for Q4 FY25, posting a 12-fold jump when compared to ₹26 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. For the full FY25, the company posted a net profit of ₹48 crore after posting a net loss of ₹404 crore in FY24. This marks SpiceJet’s second profitable quarter in a row and its first full-year net profit since fiscal year 2017-18 (FY18). The airline’s total revenue stood at ₹1,942 crore in Q4 FY25.

For the full-year FY25, the company’s revenue declined to ₹6,736 crore as compared to ₹8,497 crore in FY24.

SpiceJet’s EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation) more than doubled to ₹527 crore and its Passenger Load Factor was at 88.1% for the March quarter. Additionally, its revenue per Available Seat Kilometre (RASK) also increased to ₹5.66.

SpiceJet’s Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh credited the revival to the team’s efforts and investor backing, saying the airline is now “well-positioned for sustainable growth.”
