Global communications technology player Tata Communications on Wednesday reported a 29.35% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹134 crore for the June quarter of FY27.

The company had posted a net profit of ₹189.98 crore a year ago, according to a regulatory filing.

Its revenue from operations climbed 10.45% to ₹6,583 crore in the June quarter. It was ₹5,960 crore in the year-ago period.

The firm's total expenses rose 10.82% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹6,278 crore in the June quarter.

At an operational level, its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at ₹1,230 crore for the quarter under review, reflecting an 8.21% YoY growth from ₹1,137 crore in the year-ago period.

Its EBITDA margin was at 18.69% in Q1 FY27 vs 19.07% in the same period of FY26.

Commenting on the results, Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, MD and CEO of Tata Communications, said, "We have started the year well with strong growth across both our core and digital portfolios. Normalised EBITDA performance remains strong. We stay on track to deliver double-digit EBITDA growth this year."

"Our focus is on accelerating growth in our network fabric business, expanding our platform revenues, improving digital profitability and strengthening our EBITDA-to-cash conversion. We have the right foundations, a clear roadmap, and a sizeable opportunity ahead," he added.

The firm's digital portfolio revenue grew 17.1% to ₹2,940 crore in the April-June quarter of the reporting quarter as against ₹2,510 crore in the June quarter of the fiscal year 2026.

Shares of Tata Communications were trading 3.64% lower at ₹1,752.60 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 2:07 pm. Its market capitalisation stands at ₹49,912.13 crore.

The stock had hit its 52-week high of ₹2,110 per share on June 22, 2026, while its year's low of ₹1,322.50 apiece was recorded on April 2, 2026.

The scrip has declined 5.02% in the past week and 14.51% in a month. Year-to-date, it fell 2.70%.
