Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M), on Thursday, November 7, posted a standalone net profit of ₹3,840.88 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2024 (Q2 FY25), thereby reporting a growth of 13.2% YoY from ₹3,393.06 crore logged in the same quarter last year.

The automaker’s standalone revenue from operations for the quarter jumped to ₹27,553 crore, up 12.94% as compared to ₹24,394.79 crore registered in the year-ago period. The company’s consolidated net profit increased by 35% YoY to ₹3,171 crore, and consolidated revenue from operations climbed 10% to ₹37,689 crore.

After the quarterly earnings announcement, shares of the company were trading 0.2% lower at ₹2,927.95 apiece at 1:24 pm on the NSE.

M&M said that its automobile segment achieved a record quarterly volume of 231,038 units in the September 2025 quarter, increasing by 9% YoY. Tractor sales in the same period grew by 4% YoY, reaching 92,382 units. Moreover, the Farm Equipment Segment of the company recorded the highest-ever Q2 market share, at 42.5%. The company also reported an 18% YoY increase in SUV volumes.

At the operational level, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter that ended September 2024 rose by 30%, reaching ₹3,908 crore as compared to ₹2,993 crore seen in the same period last year. The EBITDA margin also improved by 190 basis points (bps), rising to 14.2% from 12.3% YoY.

Automobile and Farm Equipment segments

Mahindra’s auto segment revenue for Q2 FY25 grew 14% year-on-year, reaching ₹21,110.28 crore, up from ₹18,514.74 crore. The segment’s earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) also saw a 17.37% increase, rising to ₹2,005.98 crore from ₹1,709.08 crore in the year-ago period.

The farm equipment segment of the company reported a revenue growth of 9.75%, reaching ₹6,496.81 crore in the quarter ended September 2024, rising from ₹5,919.51 crore in the same period last year. The segment’s EBIT jumped 20% YoY to ₹1,136.22 crore in Q2FY25 from the previous figure of ₹946.33 crore.
