KPI Green Energy Ltd shares hit the 5% upper circuit on Thursday, August 8, after the company reported stronger-than-expected earnings for the quarter ended June 2024 (Q1FY25).

The KPI Green Energy stock was locked at the upper circuit level at ₹1,014.2 apiece on the NSE, compared with its previous close of ₹965.95, after the company said that the June quarter was an “all-time high quarter with the best performance ever in all of the financial matrix.”

The stock has been a multibagger, with its value doubling from 2024 to the present. In fact, over the past year, the share price has almost tripled, compared with a nearly 24% gain in the benchmark Nifty 50 index.

On Thursday, KPI Green Energy announced that its revenue surged 83% to ₹350 crore for Q1FY25 compared to ₹191 crore in Q1FY24. The company’s Profit after tax (PAT) doubled to ₹66 crore in the June quarter from ₹33 crore a year ago.

Operating profit, or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda), jumped 86% to ₹132 crore in Q1FY25 compared to ₹71 crore in Q1FY24.

The company also announced that its board of directors has approved and declared an interim dividend at 4%, or ₹0.2, per equity share, having a face value of ₹5 each for the financial year 2024-25. The record date for payment of this interim dividend is August 21.

The company informed the stock exchanges that the dividend would be paid within 30 days from the date of its declaration to the shareholders whose names appear in the register of members as of the record date.
