Jupiter Wagons on Tuesday reported a 156% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its fourth-quarter net profit at ₹104.22 crore.

Total income for the quarter rose 57% YoY to ₹1,121.34 crore while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) grew 59% to ₹147.72 crore. EBITDA margin improved during the quarter by 20 basis points (bps) to 13.3%.

For the fiscal year 2024, the company registered a 77% YoY rise in its total income at ₹3,662.24 crore. EBITDA rose 93% to ₹491.03 crore while EBITDA margin improved by 120 bps to 13.5% compared to the previous fiscal. The board of directors has recommended a final dividend of ₹0.30 per share.

The company pointed out the order book as of March 31, 2024, stood at ₹7,101.66 crore. During the quarter, the company secured a contract from the Ministry of Railways for the manufacturing and supply of 2,237 BOSM wagons aggregating to approximately ₹957 crore. The firm also bagged a contract from the Ministry of Defense for the manufacturing and supply of 697 Boggie Open Military (BOM) wagons with the agreement holding a value of about ₹473 crore.

Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons said new contract wins during the quarter from the Ministry of Defense, a prominent automobile manufacturer, and the Ministry of Railways for manufacturing and supplying various types of wagons coupled with the existing order backlog provide strong visibility to the firm. “The outlook for FY25 is further enhanced by the impending launch of our e-LCVs (light commercial vehicles) and the plan to scale up the brake systems and braking businesses,” it said.

Jupiter Wagons is a provider of mobility solutions with offerings across freight wagons, locomotives, passenger coaches, braking systems, metro coaches, commercial vehicles, ISO marine containers, and products such as couplers, draft gears, bogies, and CMS crossings. The firm has manufacturing facilities in Kolkata, Jamshedpur, Indore, and Jabalpur with full backward integration to its foundry operations.

Shares of the company have risen over 27% since the beginning of the year. The stock has gained over 274% in the last one year.
