Addressing shareholders at the company's 45th AGM in June 2026, Nandan Nilekani, Infosys’ co-founder and Chairman, said that the company is keen to tap into a massive $400 billion artificial intelligence (AI) first service opportunity by 2030. Furthermore, he asserted that AI will not replace IT firms but rather "amplify" them.
Nilekani tackled what he termed the "existential question" facing the IT industry amid rapid technological disruption.
"More than three years after GenAI was launched, Infosys is more relevant than ever before and well-positioned for the decade ahead. While we embrace the best coding tools and improve our productivity, there is much more to do in the software development life cycle,” Nilekani said.
The co-founder noted that the AI deployment gap in large enterprise clients is real, and closing that gap is where the work is. AI will not replace companies like Infosys, he stated, adding that it will amplify those who “move with purpose and adapt with speed”.
Nilekani explained that enterprise solutions demand rigorous testing, resilient architecture, foundational cybersecurity, and strict data governance that cannot be outsourced to external platforms.
The partnership seeks to build a scalable AI-driven foundation to boost efficiency, empower clinicians and staff, and enhance patient and member experiences.
As part of its AI-first approach, Infosys is leveraging Infosys Topaz Fabric, a purpose-built agentic services suite, which unifies infrastructure, models, data, applications, and workflows into a composable, agent-ready ecosystem, spanning AI strategy and road-mapping, the company said.
"The framework will allow Sentara to reference architectures, AI-first SDLC modernization, and govern scaling to embed AI across core hospital and enterprise workflows. This vision includes aligning AI initiatives to real-world healthcare priorities spanning care management, employee productivity, and digital front-office experiences," Infosys said in its press release.
In a regulatory filing, the IT firm said that, along with Handelsblatt Media Group, it has launched Editorial Link Intelligence (ELI), which leverages Infosys Aster, an AI-amplified marketing suite.
The editorial recommendation engine was developed exclusively for Handelsblatt and WirtschaftsWoche. It has been designed to elevate digital journalism by delivering “enhanced storytelling and driving deeper reader engagement”.
Investors will closely track Infosys' revenue growth, large deal wins and management's outlook on client spending when the IT major reports its Q1 FY27 results today.
The Street will also watch whether the company retains or revises its full-year revenue growth guidance, given the uncertain macroeconomic environment and cautious discretionary spending by clients.
Commentary on demand trends across key verticals and geographies, the pace of AI-led deal conversions, pricing, and the pipeline of large transformation contracts will be key.
Additionally, analysts will focus on operating margin performance, employee attrition, hiring plans, utilisation levels, and any update on the impact of currency movements on the company's earnings outlook.
