Hindustan Copper’s board of directors announced the company’s April to June quarter earnings report for the financial year 2026-27 on Monday, August 10, where the copper mining firm recorded a 162% surge in net profits in the period.

NSE filings showed that Hindustan Copper reported a 162% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹352 crore, in comparison to ₹134 crore in the same period a year earlier.

However, on a sequential basis, Hindustan Copper’s net profit declined 20% to its June quarter level from ₹444.27 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26.

The company also posted an 81% rise in its revenue from core operations to ₹937 crore in the June quarter, compared YoY with ₹516 crore in the same period a year earlier, according to the consolidated statements.

The company's revenues increased in the period under review due to the overall increase in copper prices. Investing.com data showed that copper prices have surged more than 5% in the last three months, in turn boosting revenues in the period.

Shares of Hindustan Copper surged 3% to their intraday high of ₹552 apiece on Monday after the Q1 earnings update, compared to ₹536.10 apiece at the previous equity market close, according to NSE data.

After touching the intraday high, the company shares were trading 0.39% lower at ₹534 apiece on August 10.

Margin improvement

NSE filings also showed that Hindustan Copper’s operational-level earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) advanced 139% to ₹508 crore in the June quarter, in comparison to ₹212 crore in the same period a year earlier.

On the margins front, the company’s EBITDA margins expanded to 54.19% in the first quarter, from 41.05% in the same quarter of the previous financial year, as per the data collected from the consolidated statements.

Hindustan Copper share performance

Hindustan Copper shares have delivered more than 325% returns on their investments in the last five years, over 270% gains in the last three years, and more than 130% returns in the past one-year period, as per NSE data.

On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the company’s shares were up 5% and have risen 10% in the last one month. The exchange data also showed that Hindustan Copper shares were trading 11% higher in the last five market sessions.

Shares of the company surged to their 52-week high of ₹760.05 apiece on January 29, 2026, while the 52-week low was at ₹226.70 apiece on August 28, 2025. The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at ₹51,585 crore as of the trading session on Monday, August 10, 2026.
