Bank of India Q1 result: Net profit soars 32.2% YoY to ₹2,525 crore; asset quality improves

Bank of India (BOI) on Tuesday, July 29, reported a 32.2% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit to ₹2,525 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1FY26). In the corresponding period a year ago, it had clocked a profit of ₹1,703 crore.

Its net interest margin (NIM) contracted to 2.55% in Q1FY26 from 3.07% in the June quarter of FY25.

The bank's asset quality improved both YoY and sequentially, as its gross non-performing assets contracted to 2.92%, compared to 4.62% in Q1FY25 and 3.27% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). Its net NPA (NNPA) declined to 0.75% in the June FY26 quarter, as against 0.99% in the year-ago period and 0.82% in Q4FY25.

The bank's global advances rose 12.02% YoY, while its domestic advances grew by 11.24% YoY. Its global business crossed 15 lakh crores.

BOI's retail advances grew by 20% YoY. Its MSME advances were up by 17% YoY, followed by agriculture advances, which grew by 12% YoY.

Its domestic deposits grew by 9.62% YoY, with Current Account Savings Account (CASA) deposits rising 2.50% YoY. The CASA ratio stood at 39.88% as of June 30, 2025.

BOI stock performance

Shares of BOI closed 0.72% higher at ₹112.30 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday. However, the earnings were declared after the market closed.

The share lost 1.63% over the previous week and 5.39% since the beginning of July. It gained 10.68% in the first quarter of FY26 and 10.08% on a year-to-date basis.

While the scrip hit a 52-week high of ₹130.24 on June 10, 2025, it reached a year’s low of ₹90.05 on January 13, 2024.
