Gold and silver price today: 24k gold rate around ₹78,010 in Mumbai; check prices in your city on January 2

Gold traded flat in major Indian cities in early trade on Thursday, January 2, due to mixed cues. While weak local demand weighed on the metal, a rebound in global prices restricted any decline.

Gold prices declined to $2,600 an ounce in global markets on New Year’s Eve due to thin trading. However, uncertainty over upcoming Trump administration policies and geopolitical concerns boosted its appeal, and the metal rebounded to $2,625 an ounce on Thursday.

Spot gold was trading firm by 0.32% at $2,632 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal hit a low of $2,621 an ounce in overnight trade.

In Delhi markets, 24K gold prices remained flat at ₹78,160 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹71,660 per 10 grams. In Mumbai, 24K gold traded at ₹78,010 per 10 grams and 22K gold at ₹71,510 per 10 grams.

Silver prices dropped for the fourth day in a row on Thursday due to weak local demand. The white metal tanked ₹1,900 per kg on Wednesday amid lack of global cues.

The metal slipped by ₹100 to ₹90,400 per kg in major Indian cities on Thursday as firm global cues capped its losses.

Spot silver rose 1.31% to $29.29 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal moved between $28.89 an ounce and $29.32 an ounce in overnight trade.
