Gold prices advanced in early trade on Thursday, March 13, following firm global trends. A weak US dollar and cooler-than-expected US inflation data reignited buying in the metal in global markets, taking it near the all-time high levels in overnight trade. Trade-related uncertainty and slowdown fears also boosted demand for the safe-haven asset.

The 24K gold gained ₹10 to ₹87,990 per 10 grams and the 22K gold to ₹80,660 per 10 grams in major Indian cities. Gold prices rebounded by ₹490 per 10 grams on Wednesday in line with global trends.
