The vehicle will be available at a starting ex-showroom price of ₹73,700 in New Delhi, the company said in a release. The scooter in comes in five variants - Drum, Drum Alloy, Drum SXC and Disc SXC.
The new Jupiter is "equipped with a next-gen engine and futuristic, first-in-segment features", TVS Motor noted. The scooter will be available in an array of colours, including "Dawn Blue Matte, Galactic Copper Matte, Titanium Grey Matte, Starlight blue Gloss, Lunar White Gloss, and Meteor Red Gloss".
The vehicle is powered by a 113.3 cc, single cylinder, 4 stroke engine which "generates a power of 5.9 kW@6500 rpm and a torque of 9.8 Nm@ 5,000 rpm (with iGO Assist) and 9.2 Nm @ 5,000 rpm (without Assist)", the release stated.
The iGO Assist technology, a new addition in the Jupiter series of scooters, uses an intelligent ignition system with auto start-stop functionality and ISG (Integrated Starter Generator) "aimed at enhancing performance by harnessing power from the battery during overtaking and climbing", TVS Motor said.
This technology facilitates additional acceleration precisely when required, which in turn increases the mileage by around 10% as compared to the previous Jupiter scooters.
Some of the other key features include dual helmet under-seat storage, front fuel filling and spacious floorboard space.
The vehicle is also equipped with "rotopetal disc brakes, turn signal lamp rest, emergency brake warning, Hazard lamps and MetalMaxx body for enhanced safety", TVS Motor noted.
"We have also upgraded the quality of customer experience at TVSM showrooms, and the new TVS Jupiter 110 takes that entire experience package forward. We are confident that the TVS Jupiter with its many first-in-segment features will further build our position in the two-wheeler market," TVS Motor CEO K N Radhakrishnan said.
Shares of TVS Motor traded higher after the vehicle was launched. The scrip touched a high of ₹2,715 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), up 3.8%. By 1:53 pm, the stock pared some of the gains but was still trading 2.33% higher at ₹2,692.85.
