With forex cards delivered through Blinkit, Thomas Cook said it is addressing India’s growing demand for speed, convenience, and digital-first experiences.

In a first-of-its-kind move in the foreign exchange sector, Thomas Cook (India) Ltd on Thursday announced a partnership with quick commerce platform Blinkit to deliver its Borderless multicurrency forex cards to customers within minutes.

The new service, currently available in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, allows travellers to order Thomas Cook’s Borderless Travel Card for leisure or the Study Buddy card for students through Blinkit.

Post-delivery, customers can complete the mandatory video-KYC and payment process through a secure Thomas Cook link, after which the card is loaded and activated.

“This streamlined, end-to-end solution enables customers to be fully travel-ready within an hour—all from the comfort and convenience of their homes,” the company said in a statement.

Each forex card will be accompanied by clear activation instructions, a dedicated helpline and exclusive access to a secure customer portal.

Thomas Cook said the initiative responds to the rising demand for speed and convenience among Indian consumers, who increasingly expect digital-first experiences even in traditionally complex services such as foreign exchange.

Quick commerce in India has witnessed exponential growth, surging from USD 300 million in 2022 to USD 7.1 billion in FY25 and projected to reach USD 35 billion by 2030, it added.

“As India’s leading omnichannel forex services company, our constant focus is on anticipating evolving consumer behaviour and driving industry-first solutions that deliver true value,” said Deepesh Varma, Executive Vice President – Foreign Exchange, Thomas Cook (India). “By offering our blank forex cards via Blinkit, we are redefining travel readiness and enabling customers to be fully equipped within minutes, right at their doorstep.”

Anish Shrivastava, Senior Vice President – Revenue, Blinkit, said the partnership transforms what was once a time-consuming task into a “simple and seamless experience” for customers by combining Blinkit’s delivery network with Thomas Cook’s compliance and card activation process.

The phased rollout will expand to other key source markets across India in the coming months, the company said.
