Food delivery and quick commerce platform Swiggy has launched an invite-only membership called One BLCK, made for customers who wish for levelled-up convenience and service.
The new program will offer services like an on-time delivery guarantee and free drinks and desserts while dining out. Swiggy’s top customer care agents will also be accessible to the members with a personalised support benefit. One BLCK members will continue to enjoy all the benefits of the existing Swiggy One membership like unlimited free deliveries and exclusive member-only discounts on food orders and Dineout.
“We are thrilled to introduce Swiggy One BLCK, designed to provide an elevated experience for users who demand the highest levels of service, convenience and exclusive privileges from Swiggy,” Swiggy cofounder Phani Kishan said in a statement.
“Swiggy One BLCK is the business-class equivalent for our customers—refining the aspects that matter most to premium users: speed, reliability, and personalized care. With this launch, we’re setting a new benchmark for premium memberships in the industry,” Kishan added.
The service is accessible to only the ones who are invited, at a cost of ₹299 for 3 months. The scheme will be rolled out in several phases.
The company is also offering perks from partner brands like Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Hamleys and Cinepolis, and giving a complimentary Yatra Prime membership.
The food and grocery delivery company’s loyalty program Swiggy One, launched in 2021, has been fairly successful. As per the release, 80% of Swiggy One members use two or more Swiggy services and spend nearly triple their time on the platform when compared to non-Swiggy One customers.
The release stated, “One BLCK is the country’s only membership that offers benefits across categories of food delivery, quick commerce and dining out, along with industry-first benefits for premium users.”
Earlier in the day, Swiggy’s stock noted a 5% dip as the one-month lock-in period for anchor investors ended today. As many as 6.5 crore shares of the company, or a 3% equity stake, became eligible for trading on the bourses.
Stocks of Swiggy and its competitor Zomato, which also runs a loyalty program known as Zomato Gold, suffered a nearly 4% decrease after reports suggested that Amazon India’s 15-minute delivery could be launched in Bengaluru by the end of this month.
Swiggy’s shares ended 4.46% down at ₹519.50 apiece on the NSE on Wednesday, December 11.
