SUMMARY
Indian Railways has launched a festive season round-trip package offering a 20% rebate on the base fare of the return journey for passengers booking both onward and return tickets together for the Diwali-Chhath period.
The scheme covers travel between October 13–26, 2025 (onward) and November 17–December 1, 2025 (return).
In a bid to spread out passenger traffic during the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has launched a Round Trip Package, offering a 20% rebate on the base fare of the return journey.
If you’re already dreaming of Diwali lights, Chhath puja vibes, and finally getting that long break with family, this offer is for you.
The scheme will be available for travellers booking both onward and return tickets for the same set of passengers in the same class and origin–destination pair.
Bookings for the onward journey will open on August 14 for travel dates between October 13 and October 26, 2025.
The return journey under the scheme can be booked for travel between November 17 and December 1, 2025.
The usual 60-day advance reservation rule has been waived for the discounted return tickets. This means you can book the return tickets from August 14 as part of the round-trip package.
Only confirmed tickets in both directions will be eligible, and no modifications, refunds, or additional concessions will be allowed.
The rebate will not apply to trains with Flexi fare and cannot be combined with other discounts, vouchers, passes, or PTOs.
The scheme will cover all classes and all trains, including special trains on demand.
The bookings for both onward and return journeys should be done using the same mode i.e. either entirely online or entirely through reservation counters.
