The new services include a daily Banaras–Hadapsar (Pune) Amrit Bharat Express and a weekly Ayodhya–Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) Amrit Bharat Express, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Railways.

Designed as fully non-AC trains for low- and middle-income passengers, Amrit Bharat Express services come with general and sleeper class coaches.

The enhanced safety and passenger facilities include CCTV surveillance, emergency talk-back systems, fire suppression mechanisms, improved berths and seating, mobile charging points, and Divyangjan-friendly features.

The trains also deploy push-pull technology with locomotives at both ends to improve speed and operational efficiency, the ministry said.

Banaras–Hadapsar

The Banaras–Hadapsar service is expected to improve access to the Kashi Vishwanath Dham and provide a direct, economical link to Pune, a major IT and manufacturing hub.

The route will pass through key centres such as Prayagraj, Jhansi, Bhopal, Itarsi and Jalgaon, enhancing connectivity across central India.

The inaugural run of this service will take around 30 hours and include 18 stoppages, the ministry said, adding that it will benefit traders, students and migrant workers travelling between Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Ayodhya–Mumbai

The weekly service will provide direct connectivity to the Ram Mandir and link eastern Uttar Pradesh with the country’s financial capital, Mumbai.

The train will pass through major stops including Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Jabalpur and Nashik.

The journey is expected to take about 28 hours and is likely to significantly ease travel for migrant workers commuting between Uttar Pradesh and Mumbai, while also supporting religious tourism.

With the addition of these two services, the total number of operational Amrit Bharat Express trains will increase to 66, the ministry said.
