The company-owned stores will focus on brand and product experience.

Ola Electric said it had built its initial growth through company-owned stores over the past five years to create awareness about electric vehicles and establish the brand, helping it build a customer base of more than one million EV two-wheeler riders.

As the EV market has matured and consumer acceptance has increased, the company is now transitioning to a dealer-led model to drive expansion across the country, it said.

"This is a big shift in how we go to market, and one that reflects where the EV industry in India is headed," Ola Electric Chairman and Managing Director Bhavish Aggarwal said.

He said the company initially relied on its own stores because consumer trust in EVs had to be built gradually, but dealer partners are better positioned to serve local markets at scale.

Under the new model, company-owned stores will focus on showcasing the brand and products, while dealers will take the experience to customers across towns and neighbourhoods, Aggarwal added.

The company said dealer partners will gain access to its brand, an installed base of over one million customers, a recurring service opportunity, and its portfolio of electric scooters, motorcycles and energy products, including Ola Shakti.

Ola Electric also announced that BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai Motor India, has rejoined the company as Senior Advisor to support the execution of the dealership expansion programme.

Subbu had earlier served on Ola Electric's board and has been a mentor to Aggarwal.

The company said it conducted nationwide engagement with prospective dealers over the past month and received a strong response.

Ola Electric shares have delivered 3.4% returns to investors in the last one-year period, and over 12% gains on their investment on a year-to-date (YTD) basis in the current calendar year, according to NSE data.

However, the company’s stock has lost 5% of its value in the past one-month.

Shares of Ola Electric surged to their 52-week high of ₹71.25 on September 4, 2026, while the 52-week low was at ₹22.25 on March 16, 2026
