Announced by Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the company’s 48th AGM, Reliance Intelligence will set up green energy-powered data centres and partner with Google and Meta to accelerate AI adoption.

Reliance Industries Ltd on Friday announced the launch of Reliance Intelligence, a new wholly owned subsidiary dedicated to artificial intelligence.

Chairman Mukesh Ambani told shareholders at the company’s 48th annual general meeting (AGM) that Reliance Intelligence will focus on four key missions – building India’s next-generation AI infrastructure, forging global partnerships, delivering affordable AI services for sectors of national importance, and creating a hub for world-class AI talent.

“Reliance Intelligence will build gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centres powered by green energy and engineered for training and inference at a national scale. Work has already begun on the gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centres in Jamnagar,” Ambani said.

The company also unveiled deep partnerships with Google and Meta to accelerate AI adoption across India.

Google will collaborate with Reliance to establish a dedicated Jio Cloud region in India, combining Reliance’s infrastructure with Google’s AI and cloud technologies.

Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the initiative will “help shape the next leap with AI” and bring advanced compute power closer to Indian developers, startups and enterprises.

Reliance also announced an AI-focused joint venture with Meta to combine open-source AI models with Reliance’s scale and industry expertise. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the partnership will deliver “personal superintelligence” tools and provide businesses across India access to its Llama family of AI models.

Ambani said the venture with Meta would be a “game changer” for Indian enterprises, enabling sovereign hosting, transparency, and affordable AI solutions. “Reliance Intelligence promises to deliver AI everywhere and for every Indian,” he added.

The Reliance chief also flagged robotics as another frontier where AI will transform industries from manufacturing to healthcare. Ambani said the company is planning investments in humanoid robotics and intelligent automation.

A decade after Jio spearheaded India’s digital revolution, Ambani positioned AI as the group’s next growth engine.

“The opportunity before us with AI is just as large, if not larger. With Reliance Intelligence and our strong partnerships, we are building for the next decade with confidence and ambition,” he said.
