The Mumbai board of the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) put 2,030 affordable flats for sale under the MHADA lottery 2024 scheme on August 7, the Hindustan Times reported.
The housing body reportedly said that it will publish the advertisement for the lottery on August 8 and the applications for the lottery will be accepted online starting August 9.
The applications will be accepted till September 4 up to 11.45 pm and the results for the lottery will be out on September 13 at 11 am, the statement said.
Last year, under the MHADA lottery 2023, the government agency sold 4,082 houses across Mumbai. The authority received over one lakh applications for over 4,000 available affordable houses.

More than 620 apartments are being offered in the lower income group (LIG), while at least 359 flats are being offered for the economically weaker section (EWS) category. The least number of apartments are being offered for the higher income group (HIG) category, having around 276 units.
Furthermore, the MIG flats are majorly 2 BHK (Bedroom, Hall and Kitchen) apartments while 1 BHK apartments are up for sale in LIG and EWS categories. The largest apartments of 3 BHK configurations are being sold under the HIG category.
There is no fixed pricing mechanism being followed for these categories as prices will depend on the location, MHADA officials told Hindustan Times.
The flats are available in prime localities of Mumbai such as Malad, Powai, Vikhroli, Goregaon and Wadala.
“There will be few homes in the higher income group (HIG) as well. A few premium 3 BHK apartments in Goregaon will also be sold in the MHADA lottery 2024," Sanjeev Jaiswal, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MHADA told the Hindustan Times.
As per the MHADA officials, the prices for houses in the EWS category will usually start from ₹30 lakh and can go up to ₹1 crore for apartments under the HIG category (3 BHK apartments).
The list of prices will be announced after the MHADA advertisement is published on August 8.
