In a regulatory filing, the automaker said it is taking all necessary steps to restore production, including arranging automotive parts from alternate source locations.

The company said operations at its Pune plant and Chennai Plant 2 remain largely unaffected and continue to function normally.

The temporary disruption is primarily confined to Chennai Plant 1.

Chennai Plant 1 is “expected to regain its production pace by June 15, 2026, and all production operations are projected to return to normal by June 22, 2026," Hyundai said in the filing.

The company added that it is assessing the extent of the impact of the incident on its operations and expects that most of the production loss arising from the disruption would be recovered within the next quarter.

“We wish to reiterate that we do not expect any noteworthy impact on our retail sales in June 2026 since we have adequate inventory in our network,’ it said.

The update comes after the company informed stock exchanges on June 1 that a fire at one of the manufacturing facilities of supplier Mobis India Ltd in Tamil Nadu had led to a temporary disruption in production.

According to HMIL, the fire broke out on May 31 at Mobis India's facility in Irrungattukottai in Kancheepuram district. No fatalities were reported in the incident.

The Mobis facility supplies audio components and certain other automotive parts to Hyundai.

Following the incident, Hyundai had said it was working closely with Mobis to assess the damage and had initiated alternative sourcing and supply continuity measures to minimise the impact on operations.
