DRDO transfers technologies of nine defence systems to 10 industry partners | Full list

The transfer was carried out by the Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), a DRDO lab based in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, during a ceremony held on June 7.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has transferred the technologies of nine advanced defence systems to 10 industry partners, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday.

The transfer was carried out by the Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (VRDE), a DRDO lab based in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, during a ceremony held on June 7.

DRDO Chairman Dr Samir V Kamat handed over the Licensing Agreements for Transfer of Technology (LAToT) to representatives of the partner industries.

The transferred systems include the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Recce Vehicle (Tracked) Mk-II to Bharat Electronics Limited; Mounted Gun System to Bharat Forge Limited; Anti-Terrorist Vehicle – Tracked Version to Metaltech Motor Bodies Pvt Ltd; and the Full Trailer of 70t Tank Transporter for MBT Arjun Mk-1A to BEML Ltd, Tata International Vehicle Applications, SDR Auto Pvt Ltd, and John Galt International.

VRDE also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with COEP Technological University, Pune, to collaborate on emerging and advanced defence technologies.

Lauding the development, Dr Kamat praised the performance of indigenous systems during ‘Operation Sindoor’ and urged industries to build surge capacities to meet future demands. He also commended VRDE’s role in delivering cutting-edge solutions in land systems and weapon platforms.
