The government said the blending of ethanol with diesel is still at an experimental stage, and there is no plan, at present, to mandate it, as initial tests showed the formation of deposits in fuel tanks and other implications.

Replying to a supplementary question in the Rajya Sabha on whether the Centre plans to mandate the blending of ethanol with diesel, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said, "The issue of blending ethanol with diesel is still at an experimental stage, and I can say categorically that at present there is no plan to mandate".

BluPine Energy said it has secured ₹239 crore financial assistance from Tata Capital. The amount will be utilised towards a solar power project in Chhattisgarh, the company said in a statement.

The 75 megawatt project is expected to generate nearly 117 million units (MUs) of energy annually and offset more than 107,000 tonne of Co2 emissions, it said.

Gensol Engineering on Monday said it has secured an order worth ₹463 crore to set up a solar plant at Gujarat’s Khavda RE Power Park. The project will be a state-of-the-art solar facility, featuring a fixed tilt module mounting structure and other system components, according to a company statement.

Infrastructure major Larsen and Toubro (L&T) said it has bagged new projects in the country and abroad for setting up substations and transmission lines.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd has received a tax demand notice of ₹248.74 crore from the Income Tax Authority in a transfer pricing-related issue. The FMCG major said it will be challenging the order before the appellate tribunal.

Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd (CPIL), which operates in oral care and personal care, received notice on July 26, 2024, according to a regulatory filing by the company.

The deadline to file the income tax returns (ITRs) for assessment year 2024-25 looms, with the government yet to announce any extension. As of now, the deadline remains July 31, 2024.
