Auto sales in February 2025 saw a mixed performance. Mahindra & Mahindra saw a 15% rise in total sales, with exports surging 99%, while JSW MG Motor and Toyota Kirloskar recorded 16% and 13% growth, respectively. Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors, however, recorded a decline of 3% and 8%, respectively.

Several auto majors released their sales performance for February on Saturday, March 1, showing a mixed trend. Monthly sales of Mahindra & Mahindra, JSW MG Motor, Kia India and Toyota Kirloskar witnessed a surge, while Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India experienced a slowdown.
Tata Motors reported an 8% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its domestic and international sales to 79,344 units as against 86,406 units sold in February 2024. The company’s domestic sales fell by 9% YoY to 77,232 units from 84,834 units. Overall passenger vehicle sales including electric vehicles were at 46,811 units, down 9% against 51,321 units in the year-ago period, while total commercial vehicle sales decreased by 7% to 32,533 units in February.
Kia on Saturday reported a 23.8% increase in its total sales to 25,026 units as against 20,200 units in February 2024. Sales of the recently launched compact SUV Syros were at 5,425 units with over 20,000 bookings, the auto company said in a statement.
JSW MG Motor India on Saturday posted a 16.3% rise in its retail sales to 4,956 units as against 4,261 units in the year-ago period. The automobile company’s wholesale sales, however, declined to 4,002 units from 4,595 units in February 2024. The electric vehicle segment of the company accounted for 78% of the total sales.
Maruti Suzuki India reported total sales of 1,99,400 units in February, increasing marginally on a year-on-year basis from 1,97,471 units. Its total domestic passenger vehicle sales for February 2025 were at 1,60,791 units, while utility vehicle sales were at 65,033 units. Its compact car sales (including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR) increased to 72,942 units. Maruti Suzuki India exports decreased to 25,021 units in February 2025 as compared to 28,927 units in February 2024.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Saturday reported a 13% YoY growth in its total sales to 28,414 units as against 25,220 units in February 2024. The company exported 2,000 units in the previous month.
"MPVs and SUVs continue to be the primary growth drivers, contributing 68% to overall sales," Toyota Kirloskar Motor Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business Varinder Wadhwa said in a statement.
Hyundai Motor India sales for February 2025 decreased to 58,727 units, down 3% from 60,501 units in February last year. Exports of the auto major stood at 11,000 units as compared to 10,300 units in February 2024.
Motorcycle company Royal Enfield on Saturday reported a 19% YoY increase in its February sales to 90,670 units, up from 75,935 units in the year-ago period. Its domestic sales were at 80,799 units, up 19% from 67,922 units in February 2024, the company said in a statement.
TVS Motor Company recorded a 10% growth in its sales for the previous month to 403,976 units, up from 368,424 units in February 2024. It posted the highest-ever two-wheeler sales in international business, growing by 26% to 115,817 units, while its electric vehicle sales increased by a stellar 34% YoY to 17,959 units.
