Apple is finally all set to launch the iPhone 16 series. The year-long wait of Apple fans is now over as the company is hosting ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on September 9 at Apple Cupertino Park in California.

Apple is expected to launch iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch series 10, Apple AirPods 4 and some other products. It is also said to announce the release dates for its software updates including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11 and visionOS 2.

How to watch Apple iPhone 16 event

The launch event will begin at 10:30 pm as per Indian Standard Time (IST). The event will be held at Apple Cupertino Park in California at 10 am Pacific Time (PT).

The event will be live-streamed on Apple’s website and Apple’s YouTube channel. It can also be viewed over the Apple TV app.

iPhone 16 series

Reportedly, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to have many features similar to the previous model launched last year. While the 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen and an aluminium body are anticipated to remain unchanged, a major change in the camera design and layout is expected. These models will also probably get a performance boost with better RAM and chipset that will aid the new Apple Intelligence features. They are also expected to have the action button that was launched last year with the iPhone 15 Pro series.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to have bigger screens (6.3 and 6.9 inches) and are likely to feature A18 Pro chipset and 8GB of RAM, according to a report by Mint.

These models will likely get an exceptional camera upgrade along with the addition of a 48MP ultra-wide angle lens.

Rumour has it that a new touch-sensitive ‘Capture Button’ might be launched with iPhone 16 Pro models. This button can work like a shutter button on a DSLR camera and can help photographers to focus on a subject and to zoom in and out.

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gunman, Apple is expected to shake up the colour palette as the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models will reportedly come in white (instead of yellow) and new shades of green, pink and blue.

Meanwhile, iPhone 16 Pro models might come in a Gold Titanium instead of the Blue Titanium. Black, white and Natural Titanium, launched with iPhone 15 Pro, are expected to be continued.

Gunman has also predicted that the Apple Watch Series 10 might include a sleep apnea detection feature but it may not be available as soon as the new model is launched. The overall design of the watches is expected to remain unchanged. Apple is said to increase the size of the screen in some variants and the watch case might be visibly thinner.

Expected new prices for iPhone 16 series in India

According to several reports citing rumours, the iPhone 16 series will be available in Apple stores starting September 20 and prices are expected to start at $799 (approximately ₹66,300) for iPhone 16, $899 (approximately ₹74,600) for iPhone 16 Plus, $1,099 (approximately ₹91,200) for iPhone 16 Pro and $1,199 (approximately ₹99,500) for iPhone 16 Pro Max. The prices of previous Apple models including iPhone 15, 14 and 13 are expected to be lower after the new iPhone 16 series is launched.

However, Apple has not announced any official prices for the new products that will be launched at the event on September 9.
