The chief executive officer (CEO) of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk, who recently saw a major surge in his net worth after Trump’s victory in the US elections, has grabbed the top spot in Fortune’s inaugural 100 Most Powerful People in Business for 2024. Musk has been appointed as a co-lead in a newly introduced Department of Government Efficiency under the incoming Trump administration.

The list has many significant names like Apple’s Tim Cook, Google’s Sunder Pichai, Starbucks’ Brian Niccol, Citigroup’s Jane Fraser, Genera Motors’ Mary Barra as well as Reliance’s Mukesh Ambani. Ambani, who is in the 12th position after Jeff Bezos, is also the only Indian to have a spot on the list. However, the list also includes many Indian-origin individuals including Adobe’s Shantanu Narayan and YouTube’s Neal Mohan.
