RBI Monetary Policy 2024: The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will declare the outcome of the meeting on Friday.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce the policy around 10 am on June 7.

Who are the six members of the Monetary Policy Committee and what do they do?

The MPC meets at least four times yearly to determine the policy repo rate needed to achieve the inflation target. Each member has one vote, and during a tie, the Governor has a second or casting vote. Moreover, each MPC member also writes a statement explaining the reasons for voting for or against the proposed resolution.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das will announce a monetary statement at 10 am on June 7, including key policy rates like repo and reverse repo rates. He will also address a press conference at noon.

After the policy announcement, the RBI governor will also address a press conference at 12:00 noon on Friday.
