Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has sold her luxury apartment in Bandra West, Mumbai, for ₹22.50 crore, earning a 61% return on investment since purchasing it in 2020 for ₹14 crore.
The sale is part of a wave of high-value real estate transactions by Bollywood celebrities, including Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and Varun Dhawan, who have recently bought or sold premium properties in Mumbai.
Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has sold her apartment in Bandra West, Mumbai, for ₹22.50 crore, real estate consultancy Square Yards said on Monday.
Citing property registration documents, Square Yards said that the apartment is located in 81 Aureate, a luxury residential project by MJ Shah Group, spread across 4.48 acres and comprising 4 BHK apartments.
The flat has a carpet area of 391.2 square metres (approximately 4,211 square feet) and a built-up area of 430.32 square metres (around 4,632 square feet). The transaction incurred a stamp duty payment of ₹1.35 crore and registration charges of ₹30,000.
"The same apartment was purchased by Sinha in March 2020 for ₹₹14 crore and has now been sold for ₹₹22.50 crore, reflecting a 61% appreciation in value since its purchase," Square Yards said.
The consultancy further noted that Sinha owns another apartment in the same project.
Actor Akshay Kumar recently sold his apartment in Borivali East for ₹4.25 crore. The property, situated in Oberoi Realty’s Sky City project, was originally purchased by Kumar in November 2017 for ₹2.38 crore, reflecting a 78% appreciation in value over seven years. The apartment has a carpet area of 1,073 square feet and includes two car parking spaces. The transaction incurred a stamp duty of ₹25.5 lakh and registration charges of ₹30,000.
In January, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan sold his duplex apartment in Oshiwara for ₹83 crore. The property spans a carpet area of over 5,185 square feet and includes a terrace and six mechanised car parking spaces. Bachchan had purchased the apartment in 2021 for ₹31 crore.
